Reasonably priced home near College Hill - $195 sq ft.

$339,000 is a reasonable price for College Hill, and for this home. At least on the surface. It looks like it was recently remodeled, and that they put at least some work into the landscaping - not typical for many homes near Amazon, or in this part of South Eugene.

A friend told me that homes in this area have been going for ridiculous prices lately. This isn’t a ridiculous price so definitely worth a look if you’re shopping.

What a great deal on a southtown gem with some character. Wonder what the inside looks like. If it is anything like the outside, jump on it before the market double again!

Good point. It’s been interesting to see the Eugene market remain stable as markets like Phoenix get hit with news of 10 months worth of home inventory.

I’m an optimist by nature, so a bit biased, but occasional deals like this signal to me that the Eugene housing market is stable or growing, albeit slowly. If that weren’t the case, this wouldn’t seem like such a good deal.

Baby boomers seem to be escaping large metro areas as they retire. The Oregon mystique? Going back to the commune? It would be interesting to dig up some numbers there, although we might need to wait for the 2010 census.
