Measure 20-134: Downtown Urban Renewal Plan

Panelists: Mayor Kitty Piercy and City Council member Bonnie Bettman

Measure 49: Land use measure to fix 37

Panelists: Ashley Miller from “Yes on 49” and Matthew Green-Hite from “Fix Measure 49″

Come on down, enjoy a nice refreshing beverage and hear both sides to make your own decisions.

Eugene Olympic Trials 2008 – Find a House or Room Rental

Filed under: Olympic Trials,Rentals — admin at 8:39 pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2007

There is already a shortage of hotel rooms for the Olympic Trials in 2008. Many hotels are sold out. See below for aggregated listings from Craigslist. So you don’t have to dig for it.

Three bedroom home with 3 double beds, two couches, and plenty of floor space available for the Olympic Trials. Fully equipped kitchen, new floors, and fenced large yard. My home is in the south hills of Eugene, 10-15 minutes from Hayward field. I would like $375 per day with a $250 refundable deposit. Dogs are fine with an additional $150 deposit. Available June 26 through July 7. My home is in a quiet cul-de-sac with a wonderful view. Call Darcy Weinshienk at (541)343-7719 or contact my email at weinshienk3883@comcast.net.

Woodfield station update – Big 5 & Office Max

Filed under: Investment Real Estate — admin at 7:06 am on Tuesday, October 16, 2007

The rumor of a large REI moving to Woodfield Station at 29th and Willamette is false. As most probably already know by now, it’s a Big 5. There are two large retail spaces for lease at Woodfield Station. One shows “lease pending”, the other building looks to be vacant with no pending lease.

Forbes’ list of priciest property taxes…where’s Eugene?

Filed under: Other,Statistics — admin at 10:03 pm on Monday, October 15, 2007

I can’t figure out how second homes near the Sierras could trump property tax rates in Eugene. $3200 for a $500k home is about 40% less than anyone would pay for the same home in Eugene. Yet Oregon (and Eugene) is not on Forbes’ list of cities/counties with the priciest property taxes. Huh?

Since property taxes in Eugene are relatively high, I thought I should poll you, the great and powerful reader, to see what you think about replacing some or all of Oregon’s property taxes with a progressive consumption tax.

Here’s your take so far:

160 Oakway – From Reed and Cross to….

Filed under: Commercial Real Estate,Real Estate News,Relocate to Eugene — admin at 6:21 am on Tuesday, October 9, 2007

There’s a rumor going around that Williams-Sonoma and/or a large shoe store will take over the block at 160 Oakway.

Williams-Sonoma stores are often found near PF Chang’s, so Williams-Sonoma does seem likely. According to KMTR, ground will break in Feb. 2008.

According to the Register-Guard, Bello Day Spa will move out to the impressive new Crescent Village in North Eugene.
